Jessica Nassif, Including, but not limited to, a piece of the apple, 2020.

Including, but not limited to, a piece of the apple is a performative installation created for the Swiss Performance Prize 2020 by HEAD-Genève graduate artist Jessica Nassif, who collaborated with the 2020 Verbier Art Summit. The installation is a reflection on the use of our voice in the 'Terms and Conditions' that show up in our daily lives, and are agreed to often without being read. Jessica plays with language and voice throughout the performance to question the complex language used in these online contracts and the ease of reproducing voice biometrics. It is a continuation of her work regarding surveillance structures through the mediums of performance, artificial intelligence, interactive design, sound design, installation and video. Due to the cancelation of the the Swiss Performance Award 2020 in view of the pandemic, this performance could not be held in le Grütli Theatre in Geneva, but was instead filmed in a photo studio.
